Used in research to study inflammatory signalling, peptide transport via PepT1 and colitis models. For preclinical laboratory and research purposes only — no statement on use or effect.
KPV is the C-terminal tripeptide (amino acids 11–13) of α-melanocyte-stimulating hormone. It is used preclinically to study inflammatory signalling pathways, the peptide transporter PepT1 and the intestinal barrier.
PepT1-mediated tripeptide KPV uptake reduces intestinal inflammation
Uptake of KPV via the peptide transporter PepT1 into intestinal epithelial cells; lower pro-inflammatory cytokine levels were reported in two murine colitis models.
Melanocortin-derived tripeptide KPV has anti-inflammatory potential in murine models of inflammatory bowel disease
Study of the melanocortin-derived tripeptide in murine colitis models; the effects appeared partly independent of the MC1 receptor.
Orally Targeted Delivery of Tripeptide KPV via Hyaluronic Acid-Functionalized Nanoparticles Efficiently Alleviates Ulcerative Colitis
Targeted oral delivery of KPV via hyaluronic-acid-functionalised nanoparticles in a murine colitis model.
For preclinical laboratory and research purposes only — no statement on use or effect.
